“Don’t wait for extraordinary opportunities. Seize common occasions and make them great. Weak men wait for opportunities; strong men make them,” said Orison Swett Marden. Giovanni Zinna, who is currently an administrator and legal representative of Moltivolti Capovolti as well as president of the association Moltivolti Tipped, is one of these strong men.
G. Zinna is a real travelling enthusiast, he travels with his association Moltivolti Capovolti. The association Moltivolti Capovolti ( means: many faces upside down) was founded in April 2011 with the aim of promoting and carrying out responsible tourism and using it as a tool to reach a cultural enrichment through social changes. He promotes and organizes responsible tourism trips in many different locations in Europe and Africa. While travelling in Senegal Giovanni had a moment when he realized that travelling is not only a tool to experience new cultures, but also a great way to discover yourself, what you want, create plans and get new ideas. The trip to Senegal was significant, it inspired Giovanni to create his own business, to create a space where people from all over the world could experience new cultures, exchange ideas and work together.
Starting new business is always risky, but the hardest step is the first one – to start working on the idea. With some theoretical knowledge in management, but no real experience in running business, Mr. Zinna decided to take a risk and followed his dream. Majority of people, who have ideas of their own business shelve their projects because of lack of funds, skills or motivation. But Giovanni is the type of person who learns by doing. He has overcome financial start-up problems by applying for a governmental loan, which covered half of his start-up costs. When government granted his application he started his most adventurous journey – journey in business.
Giovanni believes that the place where you go is not important, but it’s the way of approaching a journey. Many people have travelled all over the world but they have not learnt much. People should travel in order to know themselves and understand others better. He defines his travels as a purpose to create a real relation between people and place. G. Zinna smiles and quotes G. Flaubert: “Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.”
Moltivolti Capovolti mostly organizes trips to Africa (see video). Now the team is preparing for the trip to Tanzania and Senegal. We are waiting for new brilliant ideas from them when they returns.
