VOYAGE Challenge started as a project co-funded by the European Commission and later became independent Entrepreneurial travel training program.
VOYAGE project developed a new self-sustainable tourism product – entrepreneurial travel, which consisted of theoretical and practical activities for young people interested in tourism industry. During the theoretical training of entrepreneurial travel the participants were introduced to leadership, decision-making, team-work, communication and marketing theories as well as self-sustainable development schemes and promotion strategies. Participants visited successful companies of tourism value chain, where they got a chance to hear exclusive business success stories directly from the owners who managed to earn millions from their ideas. Whereas during the practical training participants got familiar with specific sailing features in Mediterranean Sea visited naval touristic sites, participated in sailing simulations and later took a challenge in actual sailing with professional and experienced captains. This project pursuesed to increase youth entrepreneurship skills and to boost tourism business, especially during low and medium seasons. Therefore, the project name has been adjusted VOYAGE entrepreneurial travel.
