VOYAGE Challenge Application Guidelines

Are you willing to get a GRANT for 3.500 eur value entrepreneurial travel VOYAGE Challenge?

Please read these guidelines carefully so that you understand the benefits, expectations, and requirements of the VOYAGE Challenge Application process. You should also review the schedule of important dates and the Terms and Conditions for further detail on eligibility, uses of grant, and expectations of VOYAGE Challenge beneficiaries.
The entrepreneurial travel program VOYAGE Challenge is a global competition organised by European social entrepreneurship institute, Lithuanian Sailing Union, Top Kinisis Hellas, Moltivolti Capovolti, Arkellia Network, Unlu Apartments, Warsaw School of Tourism and Hospitality and Cruises and Lithuanian State Tourism Department.


1. Prior to applying, all applicants are encouraged to read carefully guidelines, terms & conditions.

2. There will be up to 60 best applicants selected for the VOYAGE Challenge grant, which covers up to 85% of full price 14 days entrepreneurial travel VOYAGE Challenge 2016 (April – May), which is the value of 3.500 euro.

3. VOYAGE Challenge beneficiaries will be granted for one of two itineraries: Sicily-Malta-Sicily and Cyprus – Turkey – Cyprus.

4. Application is open to private persons who are willing to become entrepreneurs or already are entrepreneurs, born in between 15.05.1987 and 01.04.1998, regardless country, background, experience, occupation or language.

5. The official language of the VOYAGE Challenge is English.

6. Applicants must submit the application on by pressing “APPLY NOW”. There they will be directly linked to registration form. Or send directly the questionnaire to (Questionnaire is uploaded at



7. There will be 3 official calls announced for VOYAGE Challenge.

8. Just best applicant will be granted .

9. In case, submitted application was not granted, applicants can apply to the next call, once more, by re-submitting application.

10. Eligible applicant can submit a VOYAGE Challenge Application online by following deadlines at 00:00 Brussel time to participate in the Entry Round

1st call: deadline for applications November 15, 2015 (with the grant rate up to 85%)

2nd call: deadline for applications November 30, 2015 (with the grant rate up to 75%)

3rd call: deadline for applications December 15, 2015 (with the grant rate up to 65%)

4th call (additional) : according to the signed agreements – dates will be announced


1st call: November 15 – 20, 2015 (with the grant rate up to 85%)

2nd call: November 30 – December 10, 2015 (with the grant rate up to 75%)

3rd call: December 15 – 20, 2015 (with the grant rate up to 65%)

WELCOME ON BOARD (selected participants announced)

11. Each call has two rounds: entry round and finalists round.

12. In the Entry Round, applicants introduce themselves to the judges on-line by submitting their application. The Entry Round determines if a proposal meets the criteria to become a VOYAGE Challenge Finalist.

13. Judges will identify Finalists of Entry Round applications.

14. Finalists of each call will be announced on: November 30, 2015, December 10, 2015 and December 30, 2015.

15. All videos of each call of selected finalists’ will be entered in the VOYAGE Challenge Community Vote from November 15, 2015, December 1, 2015, December 15, 2015. Each video will be featured on the VOYAGE Challenge Facebook page, along with short description of “What ONE thing you will bring with you to the VOYAGE?“.

16. Each applicant is encouraged to spread the word about their participation and invite people they know to “like” their video in support of the application. The project with the most “likes” on the VOYAGE Challenge Facebook page ( will automatically be selected (one per one call).

17. Beneficiaries of each call will be notified on December 1, 2015, December 16, 2015 and December 31, 2015.

18. Winners are required to attend the personal skype meeting with VOYAGE Challenge youth affairs administrator before signing a VOYAGE Challenge grant Contract.

19. The application process is designed to identify applicants that do the following:
a. Clearly defines challenge;
b. Uses an innovative approach to address this challenge;
c. Has strong potential to create a deep, positive, sustainable social impact;
d. Demonstrates the leadership and entrepreneurial spirit.

20. The VOYAGE Challenge grant is more than a grant. Winners will work with professionals, network opportunities (industry leaders, business innovators and other participants from around the world), your ideas will be developed and after the entrepreneurial travel will have follow up of VOYAGE Challenge Team for one year.

VOYAGE CHALLENGE terms and conditions

1. Application is open to private persons who are willing to become entrepreneurs or already are entrepreneurs, born in between 15.05.1987 and 01.04.1998, regardless country, background, experience, occupation or language.
2. Both individuals and teams are eligible to apply to VOYAGE Challenge. Each individual from the team should submit a single application.
3. Each individual may only receive funding for one entrepreneurial travel. Individuals may submit more than one application: may submit individual application and may participate on a team application as well, with a maximum of participation in two applications.
4. Each individual can only have one of his/her proposals (including team proposals) advance to the finalists round of competition. VOYAGE Challenge judges will decide between competing proposals by the same individual, should they both be otherwise eligible to advance.
5. In case applicant describe tourism product idea, they are neither allowed to propose implementing someone else’s idea/program nor to submit material created or controlled by another individual or organization who is not a team member. Applications whose material is plagiarized from other sources will be disqualified from the competition.
6. The VOYAGE Challenge Team and the Steering Committee will review applications for eligibility before the judging begins. Applications that are deemed ineligible will not participate in the competition.
7. VOYAGE Challenge will nominate an evaluation panel composed by five (5) members, of whom at least four (4) will be experts in the area and at least one (1) will be external to VOYAGE Challenge. The results of the evaluation will be communicated on December 1, 2015, December 16, 2015 and December 31, 2015. The official, public communication of the result will be announced in the websites of VOYAGE Challenge and Shellify.
8. VOYAGE Challenge will only accept applications submitted through the and websites. Applications will be accepted until November 15, 2015 (1st call), November 30, 2015 (2nd call) and December 15, 2015 (3rd call).
9. The Winner will be notified by email, phone (voice or text), mail or in person. Where attempts to contact the Winner fail (e.g. when the Winner cannot be contacted by phone after three attempts or mail sent is returned) the Judge will select another winner. If, after successful notification, the insurance deposit of participation is not payed within 14 days of being announced it will be regarded as forfeit.
10. The grant is not redeemable for cash or transferable. No other family members, friends, office associates or any other person will be able to participate on the Winner’s behalf.
11. For agreement preparation Winner must provide proper identification (e.g. passport or ID)
12. The Winner is responsible for all insurance that may be associated with the entrepreneurial travel.
13. The Winner MUST have valid documentation, including but not limited to valid passports and Visas, which meet the requirements of immigration and other
14. If the winner is not at Europe (except Turkey), he is responsible for transport from their residence to any nearest international airport in Europe.
15. Unless explicitly stated the Winner will be responsible for expenses including, but not limited to, spending money, additional meals and drinks, services charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs associated with redeeming the Entrepreneurial travel. The Winner must obtain travel insurance to protect themselves against additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
16. No applications or proposals containing hate or hateful language, violence or violent language or intent, discrimination or discriminatory language or intent will be allowed participation in the VOYAGE Challenge competition.
17. Disqualified Participants’ are: all VOYAGE Challenge staff members, all employees of participating sponsors or promoters and/or advertising agencies and their Immediate Families and all born before 15.05.1987 or after 01.04.1998.
18. In case if the idea of tourism product is provided, it is the Applicant’s responsibility to protect any highly confidential, copy-written, or trade secret information. Applications will be handled confidentially. The legal protection of the ideas submitted by the Applicants to VOYAGE Challenge is otherwise the sole responsibility of the Applicants.
19. All decisions made by VOYAGE Challenge judges and organizers on all matters relating to VOYAGE Challenge will be final and not open to appeal or negotiation.
20. VOYAGE Challenge organizers and judges reserve the right to choose fewer winners than planned if the submitted applications do not meet VOYAGE requirements for high-quality, innovative, original, creative and motivated applicants.
21. Winners may be requested to take part in promotional activity and VOYAGE Challenge reserves the right to use the names of winners in any publicity both in paper and online.
22. VOYAGE Challenge reserves the right to use the videos presented for promotion of entrepreneurial travel activities and any other relevant non-profit activities. This does not infringe the rights of the authors to the acknowledgement of their authorship.
23. Any personal data relating to participants will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual’s consent.
24. Anyone who submits an application to the VOYAGE Challenge competition agrees to abide by these terms and conditions.
